Northern kiln dried hardwoods are used in furniture production. All items are available in oak and most are available in cherry. Some are available in ¼ sawn white oak, walnut, hickory or maple. Generally, tops, sides, face, face-frame and drawer fronts are of solid wood. Drawers are typically built with solid poplar back and sides and are of dovetailed construction. The drawer bottoms and the backs of most pieces are of veneer/plywood for weight considerations. There is no particle board, no pressboard, and no masonite-type materials used on any of our furniture.

The beauty of solid oak and cherry furniture is in part due to the natural variations in wood grain and coloring. Variations in grain and color are to be expected as each solid wood piece will have its unique characteristics. These variations are particularly evident when you choose natural or a light stain.

Our website allows you to customize each item you order by offering wood and stain choices. We do not currently have a catalog since we deal with so many different crafters. We welcome you to contact us if you are interested in further customizing the components of any product. Because we have each piece of furniture hand-crafted to your specifications, we usually have to allow the craftsmen around ten weeks to produce the items on your order. Some may take longer.
